MLW Intimidation Games Results

March 2, 2019

Report by Colin Tessier for WrestleZone.com

After two video packages, Rich Bocchin and new MLW announcer Jim Cornette welcome the fans to the show before the first match begins.

Team AAA (Taurus & Laredo Kid) vs Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr & Rey Fenix)

Taurus and Pentagon Jr begin the match with a staring contest. Fenix hops into the ring and kicks Taurus in the back of the head. Laredo Kid returns the favor by kicking Fenix’s partner, too. Laredo and Fenix square off and Fenix hits him with a dropkick before Taurus floors his opponent with a clothesline. Pentagon takes him down with a slingblade before Laredo takes him down with a springboard drop kick. While standing on the apron, Laredo hits Pentagon with a springboard moonsault to the outside. Taurus lands a corkscrew plancha to the outside, taking out both Laredo and Pentagon. Fenix then hits Team AAA with a moonsault from the top rope to the floor below. Back in the ring, Taurus counters a springboard  strike from Fenix with a stiff uppercut and follows it up with a nasty headbutt to Pentagon. Team AAA hit double-team Fenix and Pentagon breaks up a pin attempt.

Pentagon gains some momentum but he succumbs to the numbers game. Team AAA continues to gang up on him with a variety of strikes but Fenix eventually levels the playing field. He hits a Superman forearm on Laredo before the Lucha Bros hit him with simultaneous superkicks. The Lucha Bros put both members of Team AAA in a double/triple submission, including an armbar on Laredo and an elevated Boston crab on Taurus. Pentagon breaks his own hold before Taurus stops the Lucha Bros from double-teaming Laredo again. Fenix blocks a suicide dive from Taurus with a kick to the face. Laredo and Pentagon exchange some chops to the chest and Taurus hits his opponent with a corkscrew crossbody from the top rope. Taurus then nails Pentagon with a spear but Fenix breaks up the pin attempt. He takes down Taurus with a series of kicks before running along the top rope and hitting a double foot stomp to Taurus’ back.

Fenix and Laredo spit at each other and trade punches. Laredo hits a rapid combo of knife edge chops but Fenix gives it right back. Laredo hits a diving cutter on Fenix, who was perched on the second rope, for a near fall. Taurus powerbombs Pentagon onto Fenix and holds the Lucha Bros in place so Laredo can hit a 450 splash on both men for a near fall. Fenix and Pentagon kick their opponents before Fenix launches his parter into both men in the corner. The Lucha Bros hit a combined footstomp/piledriver on Laredo before Fenix takes Taurus down with a plancha. Pentagon covers Laredo for the win.

WINNER: LUCHA BROS

After the match, Fenix thanks the fans, Team AAA and MLW.

Then, the show shifts to a hype video for Jimmy Havoc’s return, which is followed by a video from the Hart Foundation announcing they will be following Freebird rules.

In another video, Matt Striker hypes up next month’s Battle Riot II and explains the rules. He announces Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Minoru Tanaka will participate.

Another promo shows Richard Holliday and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who want a Tag Team Championship match.

In a backstage segment, Salina De La Renta stops an interview of Loki because he needs to clear his mind.
