It’s been one hell of a resurgence for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the last decade or so and it turns out that, according to Chris Charlton, last year was one of their biggest and most successful years yet.
I can. 2018 was 4.9 billion yen in turnover, which comfortably beat 4 billion in the previous record year of 1997 (note that inflation is negligible in Japan over that period) Last year was the record for sales and profits.
