On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry discussed Kofi Kingston’s recent rise in popularity. He said that he deserves a match against Daniel Bryan and that his ascent is similar to Becky Lynch.
“It’s been a while,” remarked Henry. “I think I was the last African-American [world] champion. That’s too long. Kofi Kingston has rose in stature just over the past few weeks by just having the opportunity to be in the ring and get that time. He deserves to have a match against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania on the biggest platform. Everyone wanted to see that. He’s the male, African-American counterpart to Becky Lynch. He’s chosen … There is nothing about him that doesn’t scream champion. For him to be denied is a travesty.”
