During today’s Festival of Honor fan event, Ring of Honor held a question and answer session with Villain Enterprises. During it, Marty Scurrll recounted one of his favorite matches as a child: Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart. He also talked about why he idolized Bret growing up.
“I was the biggest Bret Hart fan ever,” said Scurll. “When I was a kid, my father wasn’t really around. So, I’d watch and wish Bret Hart was my dad. Him and Owen Hart at WrestleMania 10 was such a phenomenal match, the type of wrestling I like. It told a story. Owen is also one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time. The Harts were so popular in Europe. It was easier for me in the UK to relate to Bret rather than Hogan, who was all-American … I want to be organic and be authentic. I believed in Bret Hart and looked up to him.”
