CM Punk Booked For MMA Event During ‘Double Or Nothing’

Back in November, it was announced that CM Punk had signed with the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion to serve as a commentator. Currently, the CFFC website lists Punk, along with John Morgan, as the commentator for CFFC 75 from Coachella, California on May 25 at the Spotlight 29 Casino (via Post Wrestling). The event airs on UFC Fight Pass.

May 25 is the same night as All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) “Double Or Nothing” pay-per-view (PPV), where fans speculated Punk to be appearing. CFFC 75 is scheduled to begin at 6 P.M. local time. The MGM Grand Garden Arena has “Double Or Nothing” beginning at 4 P.M. Coachella and Las Vegas are less than 300 miles from one another.

If Punk did want to catch a quick flight over for the show, it’s possible he might be able to pull it off, but it’d be a very close call. The chances of Punk appearing at “Double Or Nothing” aren’t looking great at this point. This serves as a big disappointment to fans, who got their hopes up when Punk quietly returned to the ring wearing a mask at an indy event.
