Davey Boy Smith Jr. Thought Bret Hart’s WWE Hall Of Fame Attacker Could’ve Been Enzo Amore

Former WWE star Davey Boy Smith Jr. was recently interviewed by Hannibal TV to talk about several professional wrestling topics. During the interview, Davey Boy discussed Bret Hart being attacked at the Hall Of Fame ceremony last month, initially thinking the attacker could’ve been Enzo Amore, and accidentally kicking Mark Carano.

Here are the highlights:

Initially thinking the attacker could’ve been Enzo Amore:

I would’ve got there sooner had I been closer to the ring. I was seated right near where the entrance is where the guys went out. When it initially happened I – because I’m kind of out of touch with things there and I never know what Vince or WWE is planning – so I thought it was a work or something. Could’ve been Enzo that came out and Bret puts him in the Sharpshooter. Who knows?

When this idiot came down, all of a sudden when I saw everybody coming on top of him, I said ‘Oh man, this has got to be a shoot.’ So I ran down in workhorse fashion. I was trying to punch the kid’s head in. He was turtled up like a pansy. I got a few good shots in. I got a ring on my finger – so I think I may have cut the back of his head. I was trying to punch him very hard.

I would’ve – if I had gotten closer to him I probably would’ve done something a lot worst to him, you know? But I didn’t, which is a good thing, because I wouldn’t want to get into any trouble with that. But I could’ve done something very nasty to him.

Accidentally kicking Mark Carano:

It’s funny, out of all of it – you couldn’t quite see it, but when he was right near the exit area, we were all kind of crowded around. I went to kick him, and Mark Carano was in the way, and I kicked Mark Carano in the kidney. I apologized to him later and got him a drink. I said ‘Sorry, Mark, about that, I didn’t know it was you.’ He said, ‘Yeah, right, if you had known it was me you would’ve done it harder probably.’ I started laughing.
