Becky Lynch On Vendettas Being Good For Her Career, How She Tries To Avoid Getting Burned Out

Becky Lynch took part in a live interview with Cathy Kelley for WWE and talked about how her career has changed over the past few months.

Is your career now everything you’ve ever dreamed of?

“Absolutely. I touched on it a bit on Monday. After WrestleMania, it was like all my dreams had come true. There was never any time to digest anything. It was straight into doing media and pulling double duty. I didn’t want to be the champion I fought against and hold the division hostage. I wanted to elevate both championships. There was also that happiness and contentment, and that really is the worst thing in the world for someone like me. I always have to be fighting against something. Whenever I have a vendetta, it’s the best thing in the world for me.”

What stood out and “gave you the chills” from writing in your journal about WrestleMania

“Hearing that count, 1 2 3. Knowing that I had won the main event of WrestleMania, and not only did I beat someone who had never been beaten, but I walked out as a double champ. Something that had never been done in this company either. Fireworks were going off and my family was there watching. I got to hold my dad, my brother. I helped leave an impression for a lot of people that just about anything is possible if you work your ass off.”

How do you make sure you don’t burn out?

“I don’t know. That’s a very good question. I try to be smart and take care of the things I can take care of. I take care of my body and make sure that my workouts supplement my lifestyle. If I’m completely exhausted, I’ll do something low impact like yoga. At the same time, I’m trying to make my body indestructible with my diet, workout, and nutrition. Everything is designed so I can do my best in the ring every time I go out there. So I can do my damn job and represent this title in the best way it’s been represented.”

Where does your The Man mindset come from?

“It’s one thing to always be encouraged, for people to always tell you how great you are. It’s just so much better for people to not believe in you and for you to prove them wrong. That fuels me more than any round of applause ever would.”
