It was recently announced that Silas Young and Jonathan Gresham would be taking part in a match during the Best in the World pay-per-view next week. Initially, the match was announced as a ‘Pure Rules Match,’ and now Ring of Honor has detailed exactly what that means.
According to the company, the specific rules of the match won’t be too in depth, but will definitely impact the way the match is wrestled. You can check out the full rules below, courtesy of Ring of Honor:
– Each wrestler has three rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls. After a wrestler exhausts his rope breaks, submission and pin attempts on or under the ropes by the opponent are considered legal.
– Closed-fist punches to the face are not permitted; only open-handed slaps or chops to the face are allowed. Punches to other parts of the body are permitted excluding low-blows. The first use of a closed fist will get a warning, and the second will be a disqualification.
Needless to say, the match will be changed a bit thanks to the fact that both superstars can only use the rope three times, and are not permitted to used closed-fist punches. Make sure to tune in next week to see how the match turns out.
