As reported by PWInsider, AEW seems to be narrowing in on when exactly their weekly TV show will air on TNT. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that the trademark of “Tuesday Night Dynamite” was by no means a final decision and that TNT was leaning more towards a Wednesday night airing. Now, the company has trademarked Wednesday Night Dynamite, further cementing that as the final day, at least for the time being.
This placement would but AEW directly in competition with WWE’s weekly NXT doubleheader on the Network. AEW’s product will likely resemble NXT much more than RAW or SmackDown, so one has to wonder if that played into the decision. Of course, it’s just as likely that TNT’s NBA schedule was a big factor. As cool as AEW is, it is certainly not a priority when compared to TV hoops.
