The Miz and Shane McMahon continue to feud throughout the weeks, and during tonight’s SmackDown Live, McMahon confirmed that if the Miz was able to defeat Elias in a two-out-of-three falls match, he would be granted a future match against McMahon. Unfortunately for Miz, that also meant dealing with McMahon at ringside, and Elias was able to capture a very quick early pinfall thanks to McMahon distracting the Miz.
Just like that, @mikethemiz is one step FURTHER from getting a match with @shanemcmahon, because @IAmEliasWWE is up 1-0 in this #2OutOf3Falls Match! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/UuUFpd91Od

While the Miz was able to regain some of the momentum and take on Elias without McMahon interfering, it was all short lived. With the Miz slowly gaining more of the upper hand, McMahon stormed the ring and began assaulting Miz, which caused a disqualification victory for the Miz. Before the bell could ring for the third fall, however, Elias and McMahon absolutely brutalized the Miz, and by the time the bell rang for the third fall, Elias was able to easily defeat Miz. From there, the duo continued the beatdown of the Miz, with McMahon threatening the Miz to never go after him again.
