More Details On Paul Heyman And Eric Bischoff’s New WWE Roles, When The Deals Came Together, More

Today’s big news revealed Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff are set to serve as Executive Directors of RAW and SmackDown brands, and PWInsider.com has some more details on when the deals came together.

According to the new report, WWE had been trying to get Heyman in an executive role for several months and finally came to terms recently. It was noted talks were slow, but a formal offer was made to Heyman to be a full-time top creative team member around the time Bruce Prichard returned to WWE as a Senior Vice President in February. Heyman had previously been working on specific storylines and talent promos prior the offer, including working with Ronda Rousey, Alexa Bliss, and his ‘client’ Brock Lesnar.

In regards to Bischoff, it was noted that the deal was closed in the last few weeks, and WWE offered him the role based on his previous work with Turner Broadcasting and Spike to build other television series. Both men will oversee all creative aspects of their respective shows, and it was noted that there aren’t plans for Bischoff on TV, Heyman is expected to continue serving as Lesnar’s advocate on air.
