We recently posted an article about R-Truth joining Edge & Christian on their podcast to talk about a variety of topics. Another topic that was discussed on the show was the origination of the ‘Little Jimmy’ character. As many wrestling fans are aware, Little Jimmy was an invisible character that R-Truth would address as part of a comedic act.
R-Truth recently revealed that Little Jimmy was actually a rib from Vince McMahon after Vince caught R-Truth smoking. It then became a running part of TV after it picked up steam and got reactions from the crowd, taking on a life of its own.
“Little Jimmy was an accident. Vince caught me smoking, so I guess to rib me he had me smoke a cigarette on TV. It got me over more. The moment I came out, Vince said ‘They’re cheering for it, so go out can call all the Cena fans Little Jimmies.’ I did that and I just happened to turn to the side and bend down and say ‘Little Jimmy, all the Little Jimmies want to be like you!’ From that point on, everybody pointed and said: ‘He’s talking to Little Jimmy!’ It just blew up from there. Everything in my career has happened because it’s organic.”
Truth continued on by saying that he was just talking to himself but if the crowd wanted Little Jimmy to be right there, then Little Jimmy was right there.
