At Impact Wrestling Slammiversary, Michael Elgin challenged Brian Cage for the Impact World Championship. After a competitive, hard-hitting match, Cage retained the title by reversing a Canadian Destroyer into a rollup. Elgin attacked Cage after the match and blasted him with the championship. When Elgin tried to attack Don Callis, a masked man drilled Elgin with a spear.
