Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has different SummerSlam plans for Dolph Ziggler rather than a heavily speculated match with Shawn Michaels.
According to Meltzer in his latest Observer Newsletter, Shawn Michaels is not going to be wrestling Ziggler and HBK will not be wrestling on the show. The Miz, who has had his share of brush-ups with Ziggler, is also not planned to be Dolph’s opponent.
This potential direction is much different than what WWE put out on SmackDown on Tuesday as Ziggler was involved in The Miz TV segment that had The Show Off superkicking The Showstopper’s head off after Ziggler inadvertently slugged The Miz instead of HBK. The two got into a heated exchange beforehand with one another calling each other a “second-rate Shawn Michaels” and in the segment, Michaels even agreed that his return to the ring was embarrassing. In fans’ eyes, it seemed like a hopeful possibility for Shawn to finally suit up once more to have a match against a great worker like Dolph, but according to Meltzer that is not the case for him or The Miz.
