Report: WWE Trying To Get The Rock For Smackdown Live’s FOX Debut

We’re only a few months away from a big week in wrestling. Not only will AEW be premiering their weekly television program on Wednesday, Oct. 2, but WWE will be moving Smackdown back to broadcast television. WWE will try to pull out all the stops for this big Friday debut, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that The Rock is among the people the company is trying to get in order to make a big splash for the show’s relaunch.

The “Hobbs & Shaw” star has not committed to attending in October, but there have been talks. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was on the main WWE roster when SmackDown first debuted, and it was his catchphrase that gave the show its name. If he were to appear at this new debut, it would get a lot of mainstream eyes on the product just as it arrives on a new network.
