The Rock Appears At CinemaCon 2024, Hypes Up ‘Moana 2’ Footage

Shortly after WrestleMania 40, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed the first footage of the upcoming film Moana 2.

Johnson appeared on stage at Disney’s CinemaCon presentation this week in Las Vegas. There, he discussed the upcoming Disney sequel.

“Now, playing the character of Maui has been one of the most life-changing experiences for me, one of the most life-changing roles… it’s my culture as you can see,” said Johnson (H/t CinemaBlend). “I wear it on my body, my chest, my tattoos. The character of Maui was based on my grandfather… it’s so much deeper than a movie to me and so much deeper to Disney as well.”

Johnson also briefly spoke about the upcoming movie’s “new crew, all new setting, and of course, all new songs.” He also debuted some footage from the film for those in attendance.

Moana 2 is currently set to release on November 27, 2024. Johnson is also attached to a live-action version of Moana.
