Britt Baker took part in a media scrum at Starrcast and was asked about All Elite Wrestling going live on TNT next month, and she explained her feelings heading into the October 2 debut.
“I’m obviously nervous. It’s the pressure of live TV. I also have the added stress of keeping my dental career in check because I am going to be out of the office on Wednesdays and flying back home on Thursdays. As soon as I get off the plane, I have to put my scrubs on and head to the office again.” Baker said. “I’m so excited. We have the absolute best staff with agents and producers who are working with us and helping us. TNT has been absolutely fantastic so… it’s all going to be wonderful, I’m just ready for it to happen so the nerves can kind of shake off a little bit.”
Baker has done some work for WWE in the past, but she says it didn’t really prepare her more for AEW. She noted that she still had a good relationship with the other company since her boyfriend (Adam Cole) is on the NXT roster, and says AEW’s schedule just works for her dental career.
“My TV sports were about 30 seconds long and me just getting my ass kicked in WWE. I don’t think that really prepared me for anything other than maybe signing the contract with AEW a little quicker. No, I’m just kidding. I have no ill will towards WWE, my boyfriend works there,” Baker continued, “I had a great relationship with them. It’s just that this is the better option for me at this time. Obviously with the whole dental career being the main thing because, as I said, I can work Monday through Friday with the exception of Wednesday in the dental office. At NXT, that’s just not a possibility.”
