Anthem Wants To Build On Relationship With NJPW After Buying AXS

IMPACT Wrestling and Fight Network owner Anthem Sports & Entertainment shook up the industry earlier this week by acquiring AXS, which airs WOW: Women of Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling in the United States. Many have wondered what that will mean for the promotions, especially since IMPACT Wrestling is will start airing on the channel next month. Anthem’s Ed Nordholm has expressed a desire to grow their relationship with NJPW, and isn’t ready to start making programming decisions just yet.

“Anthem has been public that it has not made any decisions regarding current programming,” explained Nordholm to PW Insider. “We have been long-time broadcast partners with TV Asahi for NJPW at Fight Network and hope to build on that relationship. We are in the middle of a season with WOW and about to tape another series of episodes next week, so no reason to make any decisions there in the short term. We’re looking forward to getting to know them better.”
