San Jose To Host Jushin Liger’s Final US Match, One Of Two Retirement Matches Revealed For Wrestle Kingdom

San Jose, CA will have its name in the wrestling history books as NJPW officially announced last night that Jushin Liger‘s final match in the United States will indeed take place there at New Japan Showdown on November 9.

We are now under one month away from New Japan Showdown in San Jose and Los Angeles on November 9 & 11. Huge names have already been confirmed for both events, and we can now confirm that Taiji Ishimori, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii will all be in action on both dates!

In addition, fans attending the San Jose Civic event on November 9 will be a part of professional wrestling history, as the night will see Jyushin Thunder Liger’s final ever wrestling appearance in the United States. Liger’s history in America is rich indeed, and this is your last chance to see the living legend compete on American soil. The first of Liger’s two retirement matches, on January 4, night one of Wrestle Kingdom 14, was set earlier this week. What will be in store for Liger for his last match in the US?

On October 15, one of Liger’s two retirement matches was revealed to be an eight-man tag match with some other big names:

The first retirement match will be a star studded eight-man tag team match. Jyushin Thunder Liger, Tatsumi Fujinami, Great Sasuke and Tiger Mask, accompanied by El Samurai will face Ryusuke Taguchi, Shinjiro Otani, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Naoki Sano, accompanied by Kuniaki Kobayashi. Sano wrestles in other promotions as Takuma Sano, but for this match will be billed as Naoki as a call back to his days battling Liger in NJPW. Norio Honaga will be the special guest referee for the match.
