Britt McHenry, a Fox News contributor and host of Fox Nation, has filed a lawsuit against the network earlier today, according to a report from Hollywood Reporter.
In the complaint, McHenry says that the network didn’t respond appropriately and sought to punish her after she accused Fox Nation co-host Tyrus of sexually harassing her. In the complaint, McHenry is demanding a jury trial. According to McHenry, Fox News responded to the complaints of Tyrus by McHenry says that Fox News responded to her complaints against Tyrus by “refusing to investigate some of her claims, shunning her, shutting her out of company events, and refusing to allow her on Fox News Channel shows. … When Ms. McHenry complained to Fox News Human Resources and management, Fox News asked what Ms. McHenry did to provoke her harasser.”
Fox News has already released a statement regarding the lawsuit, disputing it and noting that “McHenry’s allegations have been fully investigated and we are confident our actions will be deemed entirely appropriate in litigation. We expect all of her claims to be dismissed.”
In a report from TheWrap, Tyrus’ attorney Tom Clare also denied the allegations, and noted that they will be pursuing defamation counterclaims. “He looks forward to having a public forum in the court system to clear his name from the smear campaign that has been waged against him in the media,” Clare said in a statement.
