Professional wrestler Steve Gillespie who was best known for being Dr. Hannibal was found dead yesterday in his car at the age of 56. There are no additional details at this time regarding the cause of death.
Gillespie was featured in many Canadian promotions in the 1980’s and 90’s such as Stampede Wrestling and Canadian Rocky Mountain Wrestling. He was often used as an enhancement talent in WWE where he wrestled under his real name.
He worked with Japanese promotion FMW under the Dr. Hannibal gimmick where he regularly teamed with Dr. Luther who is currently signed to AEW.
