On WWE Royal Rumble Kick-Off, Shorty G and Sheamus continued their rivalry. The two superstars met in a singles match. The Celtic Warrior overpowered Shorty early on. The man formerly known as Chad Gable rallied and tried to put Sheamus in an ankle lock but the Great White continued to dominate. He targeted Shorty’s arm throughout the match. Sheamus clubbed away at Shorty’s but the fan-favorite persevered. An athletic DDT and a moonsault earned Shorty a near fall. Shorty suplexed Sheamus for another two count.

Shorty put Sheamus in the ankle lock but the Celtic Warrior prevailed and eventually defeated Shorty with the Brogue Kick.
