Sting’s WWE Action Figure Pulled From Mattel Lineup, Second AEW Casino Ladder Match Participant Announced

The only thing that’s for sure about Sting is that nothing is for sure…

According to a statement from Mattel (per our Matt Goldberg), Sting’s action figure was pulled from the lineup due to circumstances out of the toymaker’s control. Collectors had been waiting for the pre-sale links to go live for the four-figure set to go live on Target’s website but they were unexpectedly delayed.

“Due to circumstances out of our control Sting needed to be removed from Legends Series 7. We’ll look to include this figure in a future wave if he becomes available to us again.”

News of the Sting figure being pulled appears to be a recent change, as he was scheduled to be included in the new series along with Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Bobby Heenan and Razor Ramon. The figures aren’t scheduled to be released until July but Target listed the figures for pre-order this morning.

Sting tweeted some praise for AEW’s Lance Archer recently and Cody Rhodes’ recent post lead many to speculate that his licensing deal with WWE is over but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

Colt Cabana is set for the Casino Ladder Match at AEW Double Or Nothing; Darby Allin was revealed as the first participant over the weekend.

Allin recently spoke with WrestleZone’s Dominic DeAngelo about his trajectory in AEW and what exactly charges him up despite not living in his car like he once had to do to get by. Allin said before that he missed that motivation, but now he’s got other aspects to fuel his fire.

“Being presented in front of national television every week and constantly proving people wrong and constantly being, just trying to be as top spot in that company as I can be. That’s what drives me every week now,” Allin told DeAngelo. “Besides money I have a lot more connections with things that can make me become a better athlete or a star or just worker and stuff like that. Even though I don’t live in my car anymore I bought a wrestling ring and I put it downstairs so I’m always training and just everything I can do to get better.”
