AEW Fyter Fest is returning in 2020 and we already know one match on the card.
During tonight’s virtual media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed Jon Moxley would defend his AEW World Championship against Brian Cage, who made his debut on Double Or Nothing tonight.
Cage earned the title shot after winning the Casino Ladder match; Khan confirmed Cage would be “cashing in” the poker chip and Fyter Fest would be returning this year. Later in the session, Khan also said he originally wanted to host Fyter Fest in London, but that is no longer happening due to current travel restrictions. When asked if he could elaborate on a location or venue, Khan declined further comment. Khan did, however, share that Cage was signed since January and that they decided to sign him once his estimated recovery time was May. He noted that Cage was always factored into plans for the show.
As far as when and where Fyter Fest will actually take place, Khan said that more details about the event would be announced on this week’s episode of Dynamite.
The inaugural Fyter Fest event took place on June 29, 2019 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, with Jon Moxley facing off with Joey Janela in an unsanctioned match as the main event.
