AJ Styles wants a piece of Mr. Money In The Bank!
Styles was a recent guest on WWE’s After The Bell podcast and he told Corey Graves that it might sound odd but he wants to work a match with Otis now that he’s back on the SmackDown roster. Styles praised Otis’ personality and athleticism and said he’s looking forward to a showdown in the future.
“Let me tell you who I’m actually kind of looking forward to a match with. As crazy as it sounds — Otis. I don’t know why! He’s just so entertaining, man!”
Graves recalled a conversation with Daniel Bryan about how uniquely talented Otis is, and Styles said he couldn’t pin what exactly that was either but the idea is still exciting.
“I think it’s just his personality because if you hung out with him at any point in time, he’s hilarious. He brings that to the ring and for me, yeah, that’s enough. I look forward to getting in the ring with him.”
Styles was traded from RAW to SmackDown for “future considerations” last week and he is one of the semifinalists in the ongoing Intercontinental Championship title tournament. When he spoke about the new outlet SmackDown gives him, he said that it’s a good thing overall, but losing Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson still hurts today.
“I don’t mean to harp on this but losing Gallows and Anderson really hurt me. Getting away from RAW helps me get over it, I guess. I don’t know if I’ll get over it but it helps changing the atmosphere around me and to do something different. The whole time on RAW was basically with them, so getting away from them and getting to SmackDown where I’ve had a lot of success, it’s a good thing.”
Styles added that he feels like he let his friends down and he didn’t take care of them, noting that it still bothers him.
