Cody Rhodes was called out this morning by a fan after one of their wrestlers on AEW Dark was found to have made some very hateful and racist comments on Twitter.
Clutch Adams tweeted out some derogatory remarks about Tony Romo along with a deactivated ‘@Kfweez’ account. Cody was introduced to these tweets this morning and quickly commented that his match has immediately been removed from the show.
Cody reaffirmed their commitment to diversity by mentioning that one of their first champions was a black man and that they have one of the only black executives out of any wrestling company. Cody ended by saying, “My hope would be that people band together and love one another. The wrestling community is smaller than the global community, but a community nonetheless.”

One of our first champions was a black man. We have the only black executive in wrestling history as part of our core infrastructure as well. Our fans are beyond valued, I’d encourage you to watch my interview from this past week where I spoke directly to the viewer at home. ❤️

Right now emotions are high. Division is encouraged and cultivated, and that’s beyond wrong.
My hope would be that people band together and love one another. The wrestling community is smaller than the global community, but a community nonetheless. https://t.co/ts4Sfamai0
