Karrion Kross is still a relatively new member of NXT, but he’s already made quite an impact. Fresh off a win over Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Kross spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and discussed his time on the black-and-gold brand.
Kross talked about the positive reception to his cinematic entrance and said, as soon as they came out, he and Scarlett could feel it. “‘We felt that we were on to something very special,'” said Kross via Barrasso. “‘I could feel it. I read that through my own personal feeling, I read it through Scarlett’s feeling, and I read it through the energy in the room.'”
Kross said that Scarlett’s distinct aura adds to the entrance’s effect and praised her various talents. “‘Her presence is definitely something you can feel through the television,'” said Kross via Barrasso.
He also emphasized the connection he and Scarlett have and described how she complements his character. “‘We have a synergy where we’re essentially one,'” said Kross via Barrasso. “‘I would describe her as the angel of death. She’s going to be the very first thing you’re going to see before everything comes to an end.'”
Kross also addressed those who feel he’s been limited creatively in NXT because he had to change his name. “‘I have not been stifled whatsoever creatively since I have arrived here,'” said Kross via Barrasso. “‘I feel like what we have done, from Killer to Karrion, is expand the character. This is something I personally always wanted to do. I’ve been sitting on concepts and ideas for an extended period of time, exercising the patience over the past few years not to do them. I’ve been waiting for the right platform. Now we’re here.'”
