Jim Cornette Releases Statement On Grooming Allegations (Exclusive)

Yesterday Jim Cornette became one of the primary focal points of the #SpeakingOut movement that began on Twitter after the David Starr sexual misconduct situation made waves across the wrestling world several days ago. After reaching out for comment, Cornette and his attorney Stephen P. New issued the following statement to WrestleZone’s Dominic DeAngelo:

“Jim will address these ‘allegations’ on the Drive Thru on Monday.  They have no merit.  As I stated last night, anything I have to say will be in court, if at all, and at Mr. and Mrs. Cornette’s direction.  Thank you.”

Cornette and his wife Stacey were accused of “grooming” talent for sexual encounters by a former OVW talent using the Twitter handle of @AKI_Evolution (real name Phil Earley).

“When Jim was booking at OVW, if you wanted a contract or on his show, you HAD to perform sexual acts on his wife, many times with him watching. This has happened for many, MANY people,” one of his Tweets stated.

In addition AKI_Evolution shared screenshots of correspondence between he and Cornette’s wife Stacey as well as lewd photos sent to him allegedly by Stacey Cornette. Other talents in OVW have spoken out on behalf of the talent’s claims and Cornette even Tweeted out two replies regarding the accusations made earlier this morning.
