More trademarks have been filed in the world of wrestling. In early August, both WWE and All Elite Wrestling expanded their intellectual property portfolio.
WWE, who have recently been filing trademarks on a slew of in-ring names, continue that Trend with a filing on August 7.
WWE applied to trademark “Pretty Deadly,” “The Hunt,” “Rinku,” “Saurav,” and “Zack Gibson.” WWE trademarking names like Zack Gibson and The Hunt indicate further plans to move forward with the NXT UK brand. That brand has remained dormant due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Over on the AEW side of the spectrum, on August 6th, a trademark was filed for “Stadium Stampede.” The Stadium Stampede was the match held at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida at AEW Double or Nothing 2020 that saw the end of the rivalry between Inner Circle and The Elite in very cinematic fashion.
All of the trademarks are filed with the following intended usage:
“IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
