Update On Penta El Zero M’s Contract Status With All Elite Wrestling (Exclusive)

Penta El Zero M is currently dealing with a calf injury but he’s not leaving AEW any time soon.

Earlier today, it was reported that Penta is currently injured, despite continuing to appear on AEW Dynamite and last week’s AAA TripleMania XXVIII. Penta has been used in a limited capacity and there’s no timetable for his when he’ll be back to 100 percent, but we can confirm how long he will continue to be part of the AEW roster.

In working to confirm some details about Penta El Zero M’s current status with AEW in relation to the injury, WrestleZone learned some new details about his contract status with the promotion. WrestleZone confirmed both Penta and Fenix signed new contracts this year, extending their stay in All Elite Wrestling for another year.

We were told that the Lucha Bros’ original contracts with AEW expired on August 31, but they signed new deals that same day that extended into 2021. It was stressed to us that they were never not under contract, so it was not a situation where the two were in danger of leaving AEW. As it so happens, the new contract is related to another story we posted in October about Penta’s recent name change.

Penta opted for a name change in AEW, now going by Penta El Zero M instead of Pentagon Jr. The ‘Pentagon Jr’ name is owned by AAA Lucha Libre. Along with the name change, Penta signed his new AEW contract without AAA being involved in making the deal this time. For those who are curious, AEW was able to continue calling him Pentagon Jr on television since they had a working relationship with AAA. Now, it’s said there’s no bad blood between the sides but it’s just a case of wanting to minimize risks by using names the wrestlers own themselves.
