With NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day right around the corner, tonight’s episode of NXT marked the end of the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. In two stellar matches, MSK and Grizzled Young Veterans advanced to the finals, where the two will meet in a huge match on Sunday.
In the first match of the night, MSK came out on top over Legado del Fantasma, shocking the NXT Universe thanks to their high-flying moves and teamwork. Things ended after Lee and Carter hit their finish on Wilde, which was enough to give them the win. Later in the night, the Grizzled Young Veterans booked their tickets to the Dusty Cup finals after taking down Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher in a back-and-forth match.
Now, the two will face off against one another at Vengeance Day, with GYV finally looking to come out on top in the tournament, and MSK looking to continue their improbable run through the bracket.
