IMPACT Officially Recognizes TNA World Heavyweight Championship

During tonight’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling, the brand officially recognized the TNA World Heavyweight Championship once again, making it an official belt and forcing Moose to defend it tonight.

After a Tables Match that saw Jake Something take down Deaner, Moose came down to the ring and began attacking Something in an effort to force IMPACT Wrestling to give him his IMPACT World Championship match. Instead, Scott D’Amore – the Executive Vice President of IMPACT Wrestling – told Moose that Rich Swann wasn’t even in the building, but then shockingly acknowledged Moose’s title.

“Moose, you have all the talent in the world and you’re content to piss it away. You want a world title match tonight? Fine! You’ve got a world title match,” he said. “Y’know why? Because for almost a year I’ve watched you walk around here carrying that TNA World Heavyweight Championship. A championship that means a whole hell of a lot to me. A championship for a company in TNA that I helped build. So, you’ve got your dream, Moose. From this very second on, I’m making the TNA World Heavyweight Championship an official title here in IMPACT. And tonight, Moose, in the main event you’re going to defend that title against Jake Something. Congratulations, champ. You’ve got a title match!”

Moose had started proclaiming himself the TNA Champion early last year, but it was not recognized by the promotion.
