This week’s episode of WWE RAW featured a buzzworthy WWE Championship Match.
The Miz was scheduled to defend the title against Bobby Lashley the man who helped him win the gold at WWE Elimination Chamber. Lashley attacked the champion, Drew McIntyre at the pay-per-view and left him vulnerable so that The Miz could cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
At the match’s scheduled start time, The Miz didn’t make his way to the ring. He was doubled over backstage, as he said he was cramping up. Adam Pearce and John Morrison tried to comfort and motivate The Miz until Lashley attacked him. Pearce refused to let the champion back out of the match.

The second attempt for the match ended with a countout. The Miz tried to reason to Lashley’s mind as a businessmen, as he pitched postponing the match until WrestleMania. When Lashley declined, the champion ran away as soon as the bell rang, so Lashley won via countout. But championships don’t change hands via countouts or disqualifications.

Backstage, Lashley confronted Shane McMahon about the situation. The chairman’s son said Lashley would get a legitimate match by the end of the show. He also threatened to strip The Miz of the title. The Miz pled his case, but McMahon refused to back down.
Before the bell rang in the main event. McMahon announced that the bout would be a Lumberjack Match. Right when the match started, The Miz tried to hit Lashley with the title, but the challenger blocked it. Lashley took control of the match, as he easily overpowered the champion. Lashley locked in The Hurt Lock and made The Miz tap out. With the victory, Lashley won the WWE Championship.
