Injury Update On Anthony Bowens, How Long He’s Expected To Miss (Exclusive)

Anthony Bowens will be back to being critically Acclaimed in no time.

Earlier today, we reported Bowens was out of action due to a knee injury and now have some more details on the situation. WrestleZone has learned that Bowens is dealing with a meniscus issue, but it isn’t believed to be a serious injury. We were also told that Bowens isn’t expected to be out too long and he could potentially return to AEW in a month or so.

Bowens’ last match was on February 4, a tag team match pitting The Acclaimed against MJF and Chris Jericho. While he was not featured on AEW TV this week, his tag team partner, Max Caster, was in singles action on the March 3 episode of Dynamite. Caster won a Face Of The Revolution ladder match qualifier against 10 of The Dark Order and will now compete at AEW Revolution for a TNT Championship opportunity.

Bowens’ status was first learned on Thursday morning after Tony Khan’s appearance on AEW Unrestricted this week. Khan announced Anthony Bowens was out with a knee injury and praised Caster’s efforts as a singles wrestler in the interim, noting that he “looked fantastic against 10” this week.

AEW Dynamite saw NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal get splashed through ringside tables by Cody Rhodes. This week’s TNT broadcast also saw Darby Allin, Sting, Chris Jericho, MJF, the Young Bucks, and more put in their ‘go-home’ hype for Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view. Former WWE superstar Paul Wight debuted on ‘Dynamite’ and teased a “Hall of Fame worthy” name that would make his presence known at Sunday’s Face of the Revolution Ladder Match.

On USA Network this week, NXT Champion Finn Balor jumped the gun on a title match with his foe Adam Cole and demanded the match take place next week on the weekly WWE TV series. Balor headlined this week’s NXT against the now-former Undisputed Era member Roderick Strong in a thrilling fight that pushed the show into an overrun segment. WWE official Adam Pearce used ‘screwjob’ shenanigans to rob NXT’s Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez of a possible WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship win over Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
