Former WWE Divas Champion Layla still fondly looks back on her time with LayCool alongside Michelle McCool. The duo made a lot of history together, and during an appearance on “Excuse Me: The Vickie Guerrero Show”, Layla recently explained that her work with McCool remains the highlight of her career.
“That’s one thing that I’m really, really proud about, in my career,” she said to Guerrero. “I can walk away and go, ‘No one can take that away from me.’ That was like the highlight of my career.”
Layla also went on and praised Michelle McCool’s proactive storytelling. She recalled how the two-time WWE Women’s Champion planned out storylines months in advance and had everything down to a science.
“We were committed to the gimmick, we were committed to everything about it. Michelle would put the storylines together, she really would, really well, every week,” said Layla. “She is one of the hardest-workers. I learned so much from her, and I regret that I didn’t learn even more before she left. But she would put down timelines. She had it down to a T. ‘We’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do that, this month, we’re gonna do this leading to this.’ She was phenomenal.”
