CM Punk On If People Are Underestimating Ben Askren Boxing Jake Paul

CM Punk has trained with Ben Askren before and the former wrestler turned MMA fighter feels Ben shouldn’t be counted out of the running when he ties up the boxing gloves with Jake Paul tonight.

TMZ Sports got Punk’s opinion on if Askren is underestimated in the bout:

“I think so, but I think it’s easy to do,’ Punk said. “It’s easy to sit on your couch and say that Ben isn’t a striker, but he’s a decorated athlete at a very, very high level in two different sports.

“Mindset and mentality is a big thing when you’re fighting and Ben has that in spades. Is Ben gonna come out there and look like Muhammed Ali? No, probably not, but Ben knows what it takes to win a fight and the skill set in boxing are different, the rules are different. He’s going to approach it to the best of his ability so he can win that fight. I know a lot of people are counting him out, but I don’t think anybody should be surprised if he wins.”

Punk isn’t the only tie the Triller event will have to wrestling as Ric Flair has been revealed to be on the call for an exhibition slap fighting match between “Da Crazy Hawaiian” and “The Bear Man.”
