WWE King And Queen Of The Ring Results (5/25/24): Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul, Randy Orton vs. Gunther

On May 25, WWE presented WWE King and Queen of the Ring from the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Countdown To WWE King and Queen of the Ring

Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Wade Barrett, and Big E are on the panel, and they preview the show.

Corey Graves interviews Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. He discusses finishing the story and being the champion. Rhodes highlights WWE’s current success and says it’s really special.

A video package highlights Booker T’s classic King of the Ring win.

Byron Saxton interviews WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Belair says her knee is not 100% after her match on WWE SmackDown. The champions express their confidence ahead of their bout.

A video package highlights Lyra Valkyria.

Kayla Braxton interviews Lyra Valkyria, who shares her thoughts about facing Nia Jax.

Byron Saxton interviews Triple H, who hypes up the King and Queen of the Ring tournament finals and the show as a whole.

The second part of Corey Graves’ interview with Cody Rhodes plays. Rhodes discusses his match against Logan Paul. He credits Paul for being fundamentally sound as a wrestler. Rhodes says that Paul has been too bold with the way he has been taking credit for WWE’s success. Cody notes that he plans to duck Logan Paul’s punch. He says Paul doesn’t stand a chance.

Kevin Owens joins the panel and discusses Logan Paul’s match with Cody Rhodes. Owens takes a shot at PRIME as a dig at Paul.

Byron Saxton interviews Liv Morgan, who shares her thoughts ahead of her match with Becky Lynch. Dominik Mysterio interrupts and says he came there to make sure that Liv did not get her hands on “Mami’s” title.

Kevin Owens comments on his return on WWE SmackDown and says he’s there to make sure that The Bloodline does not get involved in Randy Orton’s match.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill (c) vs. Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae

Cargill and Hartwell start the bout. Jade dumps Hartwell with a fallaway slam and drops her with a shoulder tackle. Cargill and Belair double-team Hartwell. LeRae tags in and squares off with Belair. Belair slams LeRae and overpowers her. She presses LeRae over her head, but Belair’s knee gives out. LeRae and Hartwell target Belair’s knee and ground her. Indi wrenches Belair’s leg in the ropes. LeRae maintains the upper hand as she and Hartwell isolate Belair and continue to attack her leg.

Hartwell stops Belair from tagging Cargill, but eventually she makes it. Cargill clears house with a flurry of offense. LeRae and Hartwell take control again. Belair tags back in and rallies. Cargill and Belair double-team LeRae with a DDT/suplex combination for the win.

Byron Saxton interviews WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, who responds to Cody Rhodes. He says there’s nothing he can’t do, and he’s used to people doubting him. Paul says he’s going to leave the show as a double champion, and he’s going to prove that he belongs.

WWE King And Queen Of The Ring: Main Show Results

WWE Women’s World Champion: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

Morgan and Lynch lock up and feel each other out. They shove each other. Lynch drops Morgan with a big boot. They head to the outside, and Lynch slams Morgan onto the apron. Back in the ring, Morgan gains the upper hand and she sends Lynch crashing off the ropes and down to the mat. She levels Lynch with a clothesline. Morgan slams Lynch’s face on the turnbuckle and continues to control the action.

Both women are down after a double clothesline. They trade blows. Lynch rallies with a flurry of offense. She takes Morgan down with a baseball slide dropkick. Lynch keeps rolling with a missile dropkick. Morgan takes control again. Lynch counters Oblivion with an inverted DDT for a two-count. Morgan counters a slam into a pin attempt and rocks Lynch with a running knee. Lynch and Morgan exchange strikes. Lynch goes for an arm-bar, but Morgan evades it and locks in a submission of her own. The champion locks in the Disarm-Her.

Dominik Mysterio shows up at ringside. Lynch releases the hold and yells at Dominik.

Morgan counters the Man-handle Slam into a Codebreaker. Lynch rallies with a superplex. Dominik puts a chair in the ring and distracts the referee. Morgan slams Lynch with a DDT onto the chair and hits Oblivion for the win.

Morgan celebrates, and Dominik looks frustrated.

Sami Zayn Defends The Gold

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable (with Otis)

The three competitors immediately take the fight to each other. Zayn dives onto Reed at ringside. Zayn gains the upper hand, but Reed overpowers him. Reed double-teams Zayn and Gable. Gable traps Zayn in the apron and unloads on him. Gable takes Zayn down with a missile dropkick. Zayn fires up and dives onto Gable and Reed at ringside. He gets a two-count with a sunset flip. Gable takes out Reed’s knee. He goes for a superplex, but Reed slams both men.

Zayn drops Reed with a tornado DDT. Gable traps Zayn in an ankle lock. He grapevines the hold, and Reed tries to break it up, but Gable puts him in an ankle lock. Zayn slams Reed with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Reed slams Gable and Zayn. He dives onto Gable and Zayn at ringside. Zayn dodges a splash from Reed. Gable floors Zayn with some German suplexes. Reed dumps Gable and Zayn with a German suplex. Otis trucks over Reed at ringside. Otis refuses to hit Zayn, and Gable yells at him. Gable shoves Reed and gets in his face. He slaps him.

Zayn ducks a clothesline, and Otis accidentally hits Gable.

Back in the ring, Zayn pins Reed with the Helluva Kick.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, who comment on their win. Belair says that they had something to prove, and they did. Cargill makes it clear that they were ready to defend the titles against any and all challengers.

WWE Tag Team Champions Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, DIY, and the Street Profits, along with B-Fab, are shown in the crowd.

Queen Of The Ring Finals

WWE Queen of the Ring Finals: Nia Jax vs. Lyra Valkyria

Valkyria uses her quickness to try and counter Jax’s power. She evades Jax and sends her to the outside. Valkyria goes for a dropkick, but Jax overpowers her. Lyra dropkicks Jax. Jax counters a DDT and dumps Valkyria to the mat. She crushes Valkyria with an elbow drop. Jax controls the bout as she continues to overpower Valkyria. Lyra catches Jax with a jaw-breaker and rallies with some strikes. Jax floors Valkyria with a Samoan drop. Valkyria dodges the Annihilator.

Jax goes for the Annihilator on the apron, but Lyra evades it. Valkyria drops Jax with a bulldog at ringside. She gains more momentum with a tornado DDT. Jax hits another Samoan drop. Valkyria trips Jax up on the ropes and hits a double stomp for a two-count. She hits a leg drop, but Jax takes control again. Jax goes for an avalanche Samoan drop. Valkyria goes to the counter, but Jax hits the Annihilator for the win.

Winner: Nia Jax

Triple H comes to the ring and presents Nia Jax with the Queen of the Ring crown. He puts it on her head. Kayla Braxton interviews Nia Jax. Jax says she knows that the fans aren’t happy, but she is. She says she’s going to get happier, as she will become the champion at WWE SummerSlam.

Backstage, Becky Lynch can be seen angrily talking to Dominik Mysterio. Byron Saxton asks Lynch about her loss, and she says she’s going to get her rematch on RAW on Monday.

King Of The Ring Finals

WWE King of the Ring Tournament: Randy Orton vs. Gunther

Orton and Gunther square off and feel each other out. The match is a stalemate early on, as they’re evenly matched. Orton drops Gunther with a shoulder tackle and grounds him. Gunther drills Orton with a cheap shot. He chops Orton. Orton fires up with some punches. Gunther responds with a stiff blow. Orton drops him with a European uppercut. Gunther grounds Orton as he stomps on his back.

Orton rallies, but Gunther blasts him with a chop. Gunther evades an early RKO attempt. Gunther maintains the advantage and grounds Orton. Orton rallies and suplexes Gunther. “The Ring General” takes control and floors Orton with a clothesline. Orton catches Gunther with a snap powerslam. Orton drops Gunther with a spike DDT.

Gunther counters the RKO and slams Orton. He hits a diving splash for a two-count. Orton catches Gunther with an RKO out of nowhere, but Gunther rolls out of the ring. “The Viper” slams Gunther onto the broadcast table. He dumps Gunther onto the floor and slams him onto the broadcast table. Back in the ring, Gunther targets Orton’s leg. He locks in a half-crab. Orton escapes and hits an RKO for a two-count. Gunther catches Orton with a pin for the win., but Randy’s shoulder isn’t down.

Winner and King of the Ring: Gunther

Triple H presents Gunther with the King of the Ring crown. Byron Saxton interviews Gunther, who says it felt great to beat Orton. He says the “Apex Predator” became his prey. Gunther says he’s going to become the World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE Crown Jewel is announced for November 2.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. He congratulates Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, and Gunther on their wins. Triple H announces that Drew McIntyre has been cleared to compete, and he says that McIntyre will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle.

Piper Niven, Chelsea Green, and LA Knight are shown in the crowd.

Ibrahim Al Hajjaj is introduced as the special ring announcer for the main event.

Logan Paul Takes On Cody Rhodes

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul

Rhodes and Paul feel each other out. Rhodes gains an early advantage. Paul and Rhodes trade blows. Cody dumps Logan with a suplex. Paul evades a crossbody, sending Rhodes to the outside, and Cody dives onto him. The challenger takes control with some strikes and dumps Cody with an inverted powerbomb. He hits a standing moonsault. Cody catches Paul with an arm drag off the top rope.

Rhodes rocks Paul with a Disaster Kick. Paul gets a bottle of PRIME at ringside and drinks from it. One of Paul’s PRIME allies distracts Rhodes. Another member of the team gives Paul his brass knuckles, and he hits Cody. Michael Cole calls Rhodes a loser on commentary, and Paul gets in his face. Rhodes dives onto Paul at ringside. Cody fires up with a flurry of offense and hits Paul with a Bionic Elbow. He traps Paul in the Figure-Four leglock. Cody hits the Cody Cutter for a two-count.

Paul catches Rhodes with a Cross Rhodes for a two-count. He sends Rhodes to the outside. He goes for a Pedigree on the commentary table, but Rhodes fights out of it. He hits a Cody Cutter onto the announce table. Paul rallies and drills Cody with a knockout punch at ringside. He puts Cody on the commentary table and hits a Frog Splash through the table.

Back in the ring, he hits another frog splash for a two-count. Paul says he hates Cody. The referee gets knocked down, and Rhodes hits the Verte-breaker. Paul hits Rhodes below the belt. He goes to hit Rhodes with the brass knuckles, but Ibrahim Al Hajjaj stops him. Cody hits multiple Cross Rhodes for the win.

Cody Rhodes celebrates his win. He shakes hands with Ibrahim Al Hajjaj and continues to celebrate as the show ends.
