Fandango Released By WWE

Fandango has been released by WWE, ending his 14 year run with the company.

According to Fightful‘s Sean Ross Sapp, Fandango was released by WWE on Friday afternoon. Fandango originally signed with the company in 2006, and made his NXT debut as “Johnny Curtis” in 2010. He later rebranded as Fandango and debuted on SmackDown in 2012, making his official in-ring “debut” at WrestleMania 29 with a win over Chris Jericho.

He would later begin teaming with Tyler Breeze as “Breezango”, going on to win the NXT Tag Team Championship when the team returned to the brand last year. The team’s last match together was a loss to Imperium’s Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel on the June 15 episode of NXT.

Fandango has since commented on his release, posting the following:

Thank you @VinceMcMahon @TripleH @StephMcMahon
Thank you for the last 14 years . I truly appreciate it!

Update: Tyler Breeze was also released as part of Friday’s cuts.
