Kenny Omega Defends IMPACT World Championship On ‘Rampage’ Debut, AEW Tag Title Match Set For 8/18 Dynamite

This week on AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage arrived to stun the crowd by telling Kenny Omega that he has been granted a match for the IMPACT World Championship on the debut episode of AEW Rampage.

Following a six-man tag team match that saw the Elite take down Dante Martin, Matt Sydal and Mike Sydal, Cage made his way down to the ring to interrupt the winners’ celebration.

Cage revealed that he had spoken to Tony Khan and IMPACT Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore. In addition to his scheduled match for the AEW World Championship at AEW All Out, Cage will challenge Omega for the IMPACT World Championship Friday night on Rampage.

But that’s not all; the AEW Women’s World Championship will be in the line in a bout where Britt Baker will defend the gold against Red Velvet. Plus, Fuego Del Sol will challenge Miro for the AEW TNT Championship. These three title matches will likely take up the majority of the one-hour broadcast on Friday night.

In addition to these blockbuster announcements for Rampage, Jungle Boy also announced that, after he spoke with Tony Khan, the AEW general manager agreed to give Jurassic Express a shot at the Young Bucks‘ AEW World Tag Team Championship next week on Dynamite.
