Update On Reigns/Lesnar Plans, Roman Says Lesnar ‘Acknowledges’ Him

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE for the first time in well over a year last night to confront Roman Reigns in the ring after the main event of the evening.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer provided an updated on the feud this morning and a possible timetable of seeing a match between the pair. According to the report, the original plan WWE had for the rematch was to hold off until WrestleMania 39 in 2023 which takes place in Los Angeles, California. The general idea was that for WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Roman Reigns would defend against The Rock and maintain massive momentum afterwards.

At some point the plan changed and WWE decided to speed up the feud and inevitable rematch. As of now, the plan is to have this match at either Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia or Survivor Series in Brooklyn, New York. This means we will see at least two months of build-up to the match.

Reigns and Lesnar were the main event of a Saudi Arabia show in 2018 which was ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’. They were also in the main event of WrestleMania in 2018.

Roman Reigns took to Twitter today to talk about the events that unfolded last night, saying “Inevitably they all come to acknowledge their #TribalChief.”
