Ric Flair Announced For New York Comic Con As Part Of ‘Exclusive Comic Book Launch’

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is coming to New York Comic Con.

Scout Comics has confirmed that Nature Boy Ric Flair will be at the famous convention on both October 9th and October 10th for an “Exclusive Comic Book Launch.” The appearance might seem unconventional for some, but Flair said he had plans to break into new mediums outside of the professional wrestling landscape. Since his WWE release became official on August 3, Flair has made it clear that he intends to pursue other opportunities, and he has previously expressed his interest in the comic book world.

“It was a mutually agreed-upon decision [to leave WWE] and I will be moving forward to pursue other exciting endeavors such as my own line of wine, my own network, as well as comic books,” Flair told PEOPLE. “I had to make this decision personally for my business and my brand.”

“The Nature Boy” has also remained active on the wrestling side of things, as he appeared at both TripleMania XXIX and NWA 73 last month.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available. Read more about Flair’s decision to leave WWE at this link. You can also read more about Billy Corgan’s reaction to Flair’s NWA 73 promo, and giving Flair the green light to say whatever he wanted in the ring at this link.
