COLLARxELBOW Partners With Spruill Family To Produce Daffney Shirt, All Proceeds To Benefit CTE Research

In the wake of the tragic passing of Shannon “Daffney” Spruill, clothing brand COLLARxElbow have released a shirt in memoriam to her.

The shirt is available now, with COLLARxElbow noting that it worked with Daffney’s family to create the shirt. The brand also stated that all proceeds of the sale will be donated to the CTE Foundation at Boston University.

Shortly before her passing, in an online video, Daffney expressed some concern about the possibility that she had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a harmful brain disorder often seen in contact sports.  She also stated that she wanted her brain to be studied for CTE, and with this shirt, Daffney’s legacy will help the CTE Foundation at Boston Universiy.

Daffney gained mainstream attention for her work in WCW as an ally of Crowbar and David Flair.

She later worked for TNA Wrestling and SHIMMER, among other promotions. Daffney retired from wrestling due to an injury sustained in a TNA ring, and she later settled a lawsuit with the company in relation to her injuries. In addition to her run as Daffney, Spruill had a storyline that saw her portraying “The Governor,” a spoof on Sarah Palin during her run in TNA.
