MLW Fusion: ALPHA Results (10/27/21): Opera Cup Rolls On

Mads Krügger (with Sentai Death Squad) vs. Dr. Dax (with Holidead)

The two masked men square off, and Krügger drops Dax with a clothesline. He quickly slams Dax to the mat for the win.

Winner: Mads Krügger

Holidead kicks Dax while he’s down after the match. Krügger grabs a microphone and says he hopes Hammerstone enjoyed that demonstration of violence. He chants, “Hail Contra.” Budd Heavy interrupts the big man and brings a chair with him, setting up a match between the two.

Krügger drops Heavy with a big boot and slams him for the easy win.

Winner: Mads Krügger

5150, led by Konnan, cuts a promo and demand a match with Injustice.

The War Chamber Control Center updates fan with the news that the CONTRA vs. Team Hammerstone match is now a five-on-five bout, so the champion must find another partner.

Backstage, Hammerstone says he’s hyped up because he’s the champion, and he’s determined to put CONTRA down once and for all. Holliday walks in, heavily bandaged, and he’s impossible to understand; he says something that offends Alicia Atout, so she slaps him and walks away.

The show replays the news that nZo (formerly known as Enzo Amore) is coming to MLW.

Opera Cup Opening Round: TJP vs. Alex Shelley

TJP and Shelley feel each other out, and Shelley gets an early two count with a pin attempt. They trade holds, and TJP targets Shelley’s arm. The former Motor City Machine Gun turns the tables on Shelley, but the United Empire member dives onto him outside the ring. Back in the ring, TJP drops Shelley with a knee to the face.

Shelley rallies, but TJP traps Shelley in the Muta Lock. TJP and Shelley trade counters, and Shelley sends his opponent head-first into the turnbuckle. He drills TJP with a running knee in the corner and plants him with a tornado DDT. TJP dropkicks Shelley’s knee and kicks it a few more times. He drops Shelley with a kick to the head. Shelley perseveres and locks in the Border City Stretch, but TJP reverses it into a pin and gets the three count by using the ropes for leverage.

Winner: TJP

With the win, TJP advances to the next round; if Tankman is fit to compete, TJP will face him in the semi-finals.
