EC3 Issues ‘Essential Call To Arms’ Days After News Of ROH’s Hiatus, Calls Honor A ‘Lie’

EC3 has commented on the news that Ring of Honor will be going on hiatus in the first quarter of 2022 and reportedly releasing its talent at the end of the year.

In a video titled “An #Essential Call To Arms”, EC3 called honor “a lie”, seemingly calling out ROH in doing so. He criticized corporate wrestling and three-letter brands before he enouraged his “fallen brethren” to join him and pursue true honor by controlling their narrative.

The message within the video is as follows:

“You have been lied to your whole life,” said EC3. “I have been saying this since April of 2020 but I have known it for so much longer. This lie is so blatant, so vivid, so audacious, it’s in your name. Honor. Honor as we’ve been taught is a lie. There is no honor in what we do when we do it for them. Corporate wrestling, three-letter brands, the divisive, toxic, delusional bubble that is the pro wrestling community, it is all the same. Here is the bitter pill you must swallow. If you are a fan, if you’re watching this, if it’s successful to you, you are the product. Now if you competed, if this is your dream, if you’re a performer, then you just a gear in an inhuman machine. You are cattle, you are cannon fodder, you are binary, you are numbers on a spreadsheet, man. It takes and it takes and it takes, and it gives you nothing. There is no honor in what we do when we do it for others because our leaders have failed you. The only person that will not fail you is yourself.

“To my fallen brethren , now is the time to take control. You cannot play it safe. You must take the risk. You have to take the chance. You must jump head-first into the unknown. I offer you my hand and if you give your blood, I will give you your freedom. But if you grovel, if you conform, if you lay down now, you will die. You do not get honor in a ring. You only get scars. A callused body, a callused mine, a callused soul. Honor comes from purpose. Honor comes when you choose to control your narrative. You have been warned.”

EC3 signed with ROH last year; he has battled medical issues during his time with the company, but he memorably faced Jay Briscoe at ROH 19th Anniversry Show. Otherwise, he is at the helm of Free The Narrative, a unique series that recently released its second feature, “The Monster In Us All.” These features typically focus on wrestlers who are trying to find themselves after they have been released from “three-letter brands.” Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman, was the focus in the second one.
