Rocky Romero Helps Tomohiro Ishii Win AEW Dynamite Debut In Tag Bout With Orange Cassidy

Thanks to the arrival of Tomohiro Ishii, CHAOS reigned supreme on AEW Dynamite on November 17.

Ishii, the NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion, made his AEW debut on Wednesday when he teamed up with Orange Cassidy to face The Butcher and The Blade. This bout marked the newest move in the Forbidden Door era, as Ishii followed several other NJPW stars have popped up in AEW over the last few months.

Ishii, a powerhouse who’s known as one of the toughest brawlers in the business, overpowered everything The Butcher and The Blade threw at him. Even the interference of Matt Hardy and The Bunny failed to sway the outcome, as Ishii’s CHAOS stablemate, Rocky Romero helped Cassidy take Hardy out of the equation. In the end, Ishii pinned The Blade.

Romero invited Cassidy and The Best Friends to join CHAOS on the November 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, and they accepted. This bout also marked a temporary return for The Butcher, who has been on tour with his band in recent weeks. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that Williams took one day off of this tour so that he could face Ishii, and he’s expected to go back on the road after Wednesday.
