Men’s WarGames Match Set For WWE NXT WarGames

Carmelo Hayes continues to make hay as one of the hottest stars in WWE NXT 2.0, and Tony D’Angelo provided a crucial assist to help “Melo” keep his title on the November 23 episode of WWE NXT.

The North American Champion put his belt on the line against Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne in the main event on Tuesday, and he emerged victorious against the two seasoned veterans of the NXT brand.

Hayes was joined by his hype man, Trick Williams for the match and commentary really hammered the point home that Hayes didn’t have to be factored in the outcome of the match to lose the title. From start to finish, the triple threat bout was a hard-fought contest, and Gargano wowed the Capitol Wrestling Center with his renowned offensive skills.

The match took a major turn in the closing minutes when D’Angelo, who previously told McKenzie Mitchell to not bet on Dunne, came out to pull “The Bruiserweight” out of the ring. In doing so, he allowed Hayes to leap off the top with a Fame Asser that kept Gargano down for the count.

After the match, the young stars battled with Dunne and Gargano until NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa came out for the save. LA Knight and Grayson Waller brawled to ringside, and the battle lines became clear as Knight, Gargano, Ciampa and Dunne all stood in ring before Bron Breakker joined the trio of Waller, Hayes and D’Angelo. The powerhouse then shouted “War Games” before the eight men, along with Williams, had an all-out brawl to end the show.

The WarGames match was subsequently confirmed for the 12/5 NXT WarGames.
