In the main event of the December 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes faced Andrade El Idolo in an Atlanta Street Fight.
As one might have expected, the match was a brutal battle; the two opponents used everything from chairs to laptops to punish each other. “The American Nightmare” generated some buzz when he pulled a sledgehammer out from under the ring and opted to use a golden shovel instead. These weapons might have been references to Triple H.
In another highlight, T-Pain, one of Cody’s fellow judges on the upcoming season of “Go Big Show”, handed him a chair and gave him a hug.

In a stunning ending, Brandi Rhodes lit a table on fire to help her husband drop Andrade El Idolo with a reverse superplex through the flames for the win.

Back from the break, Cody and Andrade are brawling on their feet. Cody nails Andrade with the chain. Big powerslam Bulldog style by Cody. Boos from the crowd. Cody goes for a tope and Andrade gets a chair up.
The mats get pulled up and Andrade goes for his Hangman’s DDT, but Cody flips him. Cody is busted open. He dismisses a kendo stick and a sledgehammer for a golden shovel. Jose comes out with a taser, but Cody smacks him with the shovel. Andrade dives on top of Cody over the ring post. “A-E-Dub” chants.
Andrade nails some running knees in the corner as Cody is wedged there with a chair on his face. Andrade covers for a two count.
Andrade pulls out a table and leans it in the corner. He hip toss counters Cody through the table. Another table gets pulled out. He puts Cody on the table but Cody fights him up top. Andrade headbutts Cody down, but Cody sweeps the leg. Brandi Rhodes comes out and puts lighter fluid on the table. The table is on fire as Cody hits a reverse DDT on Andrade through the table. Cody was on fire briefly as he covers: 1-2-3!

For Cody, this victory avenges El Idolo’s win over him on the November 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. It also let him get some revenge after Andrade planted the former AEW TNT Champion with a DDT on bare concrete after the November 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.
