Ryback Responds To MJF’s Dig About Him On AEW Dynamite

Ryback thanks MJF for the shoutout… and takes yet another dig at CM Punk.

Prior to his Dynamite Diamond match against Dante Martin, MJF cut a promo on CM Punk and used the opportunity to take a shot at Punk’s “underwhelming” undefeated streak by comparing it to “The Big Guy.”

“I didn’t realize that having an undefeated streak in a string of underwhelming matches against underwhelming opponents made you championship material, I thought that just made you the new Ryback,” MJF said.

The crowd popped and social media was full of chatter about the remark, and now Ryback himself has chimed in, posting the following on Twitter:

Thanks for the shoutout @The_MJF Now you have your big chance at being an enhancement talent working with an underwhelming opponent. [wink emoji] #FeedMeMore

Ryback’s post featured a photo of a bloodied CM Punk during his UFC debut fight, one of many shots he’s taken at Punk over the years that have passed since their 2012 feud in WWE. Punk’s infamous appearance on Colt Cabana’s The Art Of Wrestling podcast in 2014 saw Punk claim Ryback was a dangerous worker, adding that he believed Ryback was careless in the ring. Ryback maintained that Punk’s comments led to a lot of people not liking him, and he would continue to take shots at Punk until he apologizes for the initial comments.

MJF went on to defeat Dante Martin to win the Dynamite Diamond ring for a third consecutive year. After the match, FTR, Sting, Darby Allin and Punk joined the fray and the scuffle resulted in a six-man tag team match being booked for the December 23 “Holiday Bash” episode of Dynamite.
