Austin Theory: My Current Run Has Been A ‘Huge Experience,’ I Want To Face Roman Reigns

Austin Theory has been on a rapid rise on WWE RAW; the former NXT star has been working alongside WWE Chairman Vince McMahon recently, and the 24-year-old is shooting straight for the top.

In an interview with Liam Llewellyn of Mirror Sport, Theory first joked that he hopes to take on McMahon in a match before he named WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, the “Needle Mover” himself, as the man he wants to face at “The Grandest Stage of them All, WrestleMania.”

“[I want to face] Mr. McMahon,” said Theory. “I’m going to go for the head of the table Roman Reigns. “This is a guy who has been around for a long time, he’s seen different things, he’s literally at the top.”

Theory then discussed his current run and specifically named his involvement in the traditional Survivor Series match, where he clashed with former champions like Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus. He noted that this bout specifically was a big step forward in his main roster run.

“It’s definitely a huge experience, just because of the calibre and level that these guys are on,” said Theory. “Look at Survivor Series for example, look at how many guys in that match have been the world champion, so that was a huge jump for me.

The young star also challenged Big E for the WWE Championship the next night on WWE RAW, and the signficance of this opportunity wasn’t lost on Theory.

“Then already going after the WWE championship, everybody knows that’s a title that’s been around forever,” said Theory. “It’s a lot to take in, like I said I’ve just got to slow myself down and just enjoy it all.”

Judging by his time on WWE RAW up to this point, it’s clear that Theory has a bright future from here on out, whether that includes a match with Reigns or not.
