Report: Update On The Short-Handed Crew Of Talent And Producers At 12/27 WWE RAW

WWE RAW was clearly short-handed on December 27 as the company was dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 surge. Top stars like WWE Champion Big E, RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, among others, weren’t present on Monday night, though the episode was the go-home show for WWE Day 1.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has offered some updates on the situation by noting that in addition to the extensive absence of some prominent talent, the producer crew was particularly hit hard. The latter news was first shared by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, but Ross Sapp elaborated that the producers were literally split between the RAW taping (in Detroit) and a SmackDown house show in Orlando.

Additionally, in Ross Sapp’s report, he cites company sources who called the group of talent and producers present on Monday “the most skeleton of crews”, with some noting that one would usually see more people backstage during the Performance Center era (during the early stretch of the pandemic compared to this past Monday.
